Christine Taylor

It is no surprise that I love to work with children in the water; I come from a family of swimming instructors! My daughter works here at Making Waves and my son swam Lake Ontario. I’ve taught 1000’s of kids to swim. I believe by teaching a child to swim you can make a positive difference in their lives. That’s why I love my job! See you little fish in the pool!

Emerson Chambers

Hi, I’m Emerson! Working at Making Waves is great because every day is a new adventure! I love teaching Side Glides the most! I enjoy swimming and hope to teach all of my students to love the water!  See you in the pool!

  

Savannah Gravel

Hi, my name is Savannah, but people call me ‘Red’… can you guess why?  My favourite sport is swimming and I also love to travel! I have already been to Italy, France, Malta and Honduras!  I love working with kids because they really know how to make me laugh!!

  

Stephanie Leslie

I am Steph! I love the warm water and the amazing kids we teach here at Making Waves! I enjoy teaching the kids and watching them grow up as they move through our program! I also work at a high school where I work with Special Needs teens.  I love learning something new every day!

  

Marla Zwolman

Hey! I am Marla. I enjoy working at Making Waves so much! I really enjoy teaching Parent & Tot, but I love teaching all the kids too! Work is fun and can be relaxing too because the water is so nice and warm! My kids swim here at Making Waves too – they have learned so much and fast! I look forward to meeting you in the pool!

  

Brianne Tylliros

I am Miss Brianne! I especially love teaching the little kids! I am so glad that I am a part of ensuring our students know how to be safe around the water and more importantly how to swim! Making Waves is full of really nice people and some of my closest friends - I love working here! My favourite food is spaghetti….mmm!

  

Jonathan White

Hi, I am Jon! I love working for Making Waves because the kids and the staff are awesome! My favourite skill to teach is eggbeater; it’s challenging to learn and to teach! I love challenges!  When I am not at the pool you might find me watching and playing hockey. I believe the Toronto Maple Leafs are going to make the play offs! I am also a HUGE Harry Potter Fan!

  

Danielle Daponte-Melo

Hi kids, I am Danielle! I am so happy to be a part of the Making Waves staff – I have been swimming here since I was little! My favourite skill to teach is Front Crawl. When I’m not in the water I also enjoy track & field and cross country running to keep in shape! I am always looking for ways to help out (work, school, family, etc). I can’t wait to see your kids in the pool and help them improve their swimming and joy for the water!

  

Austin Hoy

I am Austin (“Powers”)! I love teaching swimming! It is a life skill that you can always enjoy and continue to improve. When I was a small child I didn’t like swimming but my mom insisted that I learn and I am so glad she did!! Travel is another passion of mine…I have already been to Egypt!

  

Zoe Patterson

Hey! I am Zoe and I love being on staff here at Making Waves because of the positive atmosphere! The kids make every shift so much fun! I particularly love teaching floats to the littlest swimmers. I look forward to seeing you in the pool!

  

Dan Pike

Hello, I am Dan – o! I enjoy being in the water teaching and demonstrating skills to the children in my classes. Whip kick is my favourite skill to teach! If I’m not at Making Waves you will probably find me playing baseball or hockey. I am also a Math wiz!

  

Jessica Taylor

I am Jessica! I love working for Making Waves and find it so rewarding to teach such an enjoyable life skill to kids! After completing my studies I am certified to work with people who are visually impaired. I have been working at Making Waves for many years now and just keep coming back because I love the staff and the kids!

  

Cynthia Chorobik

Hi there, I’m Cynthia! I love teaching kids and watching them work hard at new skills and succeed! I know that I was meant to work with children and I am currently attending Teachers College. You may not know that I also used to be a synchronized swimmer!!

Hey my name is Kristen. Being a swimming instructor is definitely a great job for me because I love swimming and also swim competitively! I really love teaching kids how to swim and getting them to love it as much as I do!!

  

Richard Weaver

If you want to talk about baseball…I’m your man.  Blue Jays are my team!  I’m a Head Instructor here at Making Waves and that means that I make sure all of the lessons on my shift are running well.  I look forward to meeting you and your little fish at the pool!

Hello kids, I am Sam!  I swim competitively for Georgetown and love to help kids with their technique, speed and endurance! I think the individualized teaching at Making Waves is awesome! One thing you don’t know about me is I can sing the 50 states in alphabetical order... just ask me!

  

Colin Scarffe

Hi, I’m Colin!  I love to swim which is why I train competitively for up to 20 hours a week!  I enjoy teaching and having fun with the kids in the pool! My favourite skill to teach is Front Crawl.  Making Waves is a great place to work because of the awesome staff!

  

Nolan Jeppesen

Hi there, I’m Nolan!  I love to teach back floats!  Teaching is fun because I get to act like a kid again! I love having fun with my students! I also enjoy playing basketball and reading when I’m not in my bathing suit. Chicken wings rock…mmm!

Hello, I am Connor.  I love to teach & Head Instruct for Making Waves!  I always leave work happy which makes me want to come back every day!  My favourite skill to teach is diving. Outside of the pool I stay active playing volleyball or boxing!

  

Laura Evans

Hello, I am Laura!  I love to teach floats & glides to the little ones!  I love the positive atmosphere and friendly people here at Making Waves!  My favorite sport is Rugby!  I am studying with the University of Toronto to become a teacher!  Can’t get enough of it!!

  

Eric Schroder

You can call me Mr. Eric!  I love teaching kids to swim! I am very athletic and besides swimming I also play football, basketball, and help coach a basketball team!  I love to keep active and have fun!

Hi, I am one of the Sarah’s here at Making Waves! I love watching the kids learn and improve their swimming while having fun in the pool!!  My favourite sport is soccer, so you know I have a good kick.  I can’t wait to teach your little fish in the pool!

Hello! I am Julian. My family and I have been swimming with Making Waves for quite some time now! I took all my courses here and now I am so proud to be teaching your kids such a valuable life skill! In my spare time I play football!

  

Sarah McDuffe

I am McDuffe! I love working with the kids & watching their reactions when they finally accomplish something they have been trying so hard to do! I wear a lot of hats here in Milton where I teach, Head instruct and work the front desk! Something you didn’t know about me is that I’m actually really tall. It is all an illusion!

  

Dylan O’Neil

I love dirt biking! I have lots of experience on and “off” my bike…don’t ever land a jump wrong! I also love sushi and playing the guitar! A couple of years ago I grew my hair really long and donated it to the Canadian Cancer Society. I really enjoy working with kids in such a fun aquatic environment! If you look hard, you can find my gills-HA!

  

Ryan Rubenstein

Hey Guys! I am Ryan. I like the adventure the swimmers take me on each and every class! You probably do not know that I have my Black Belt…and I currently still practice martial arts! Look out! I can’t wait to meet you swimmers in the pool – get ready for a challenge!

  

Michael Ramsey

I am Michael, you can call me Mike! When I am not in the pool I love playing soccer and practicing Taekwondo. My favourite food is pasta! Mmmm… I learned to swim here at Making Waves and now I am so excited to be teaching kids this important life skill!

  

Steven Ramsey

Hey kids, I am Steven! My favorite skill to teach is kicking! It is really rewarding to see the kids improve their skills every week! I love pizza…and we get a lot of it here- so I love it! Something interesting about me is that I have a second degree black belt in Taekwondo!

  

Chrissy Seehaver

I am Chrissy! I love love, love swimming. I enjoy being adventurous! If I’m not in the pool you might find me mountain biking or running 25km - I love the burn! Teaching kids to swim is a passion of mine and I can’t get enough of aquatics! Hope to see your lil’ fish in the pool soon!

  

Isaac West

I swim competitively with Georgetown! Learning how to challenge your swimming through fitness and endurance is a passion of mine. I love to teach stroke correction, technique and speed! I believe learning how to swim is an essential skill. You may also find me at the Making Waves Brampton locations – can’t get enough!
