Why Try Making Waves

Making Waves’ reputation for small class sizes, hands-on teaching techniques, well-trained instructors, and the delivery of predictable high quality lessons has produced thousands of confident swimmers since 1994.

Here is what sets us apart:

Warm water!! Our pools are warm, most measuring over 90º, and most are designed specifically for teaching swimming lessons. Children are comfortable, happy, and able to focus on learning to swim.

Lessons at other facilities are generally taught in pools that maintain a cooler temperature (between 82-86º)
to facilitate lap swimming. Making Waves believes children learn faster in a warm aquatic environment.

Well Trained, Caring InstructorsOur instructors are chosen for their ability to communicate well with children. We believe that it works best when we “hire the personality and train the skill”. Our outgoing instructors are motivated and extremely passionate about working with kids!

Teaching pools – Our full-length, warm water pools are built for little swimmers with stairs, benches, and very shallow areas. Both our West Brampton and Milton locations are also warm salt-water pool environments – especially great for kids with medical issues such as asthma or eczema.

Organized classes provide the correct space to maintain safety while challenging swimmers. Students learn in a focused, safe, consistent, and child-friendly aquatic environment. Change rooms, decks and observation areas are for families, so that parents can see their child progressing at each lesson.

Small class sizes – At Making Waves, all students in our learn-to-swim classes enjoy a 3:1 student-teacher ratio. Parent & Tot classes have a 7:1 ratio. Private lessons are also available for those students who require one-on-one attention.

Superior Customer ServiceMaking Waves Swim School really cares about their students, and it shows! The school wants each and every family to have a positive experience in the program. Regular feedback is provided to parents in respect to the progress of their child, and they also encourage open communication by providing opportunities for parents to evaluate the programs.

Making Waves also provides make-up lessons for absences due to illness when space is available, and, for the convenience of busy parents, they try their best to schedule siblings’ lessons at the same time.

“In over six years with Making Waves, our kids have never said no to swim school. They are always thrilled to be there. There’s nowhere else we would trust with the teaching of such an important life skill.”
